Vision Payment Solutions Put GetRV.com out of business- It could happen to you too!!

GetRV.com has a policy of not participating in public, "anonymous" bashing forums. However, as a past employee in the know, I had to post this.

Those of you posting under multiple "anonymous" names take note, that works both ways. If you are attacking employees that were laid off because of this situation, I encourage you to stop.

For the record:

On the 6th of September, GetRV.com experienced $18k in charge-backs from our summer travelers for various reasons. It happens every September. GetRV.com switched credit card processors last November 2010, so the new processor had not gone through the end of the summer trend before. Vision Payment Solutions immediately with held 6 days of deposits for a total of $52,000.

Several calls to Sara Staro, "Risk Manager" at VPS, sara@***.com (877) 674-**** x 105 went unanswered for a long period. In the meantime, they continue to hold all deposits for credit cards processed by GetRV.com.

Since Sara Staro, "Risk Manager" failed to return calls, there were many calls sent to Thomas A. Stone, Chief Operating Officer for Vision Payment Solutions, LLC, 509 Forest Ave, Portland, Maine 04101 8**-**4-2286 x 102 email - tstone@***.com. Tom was unwilling to assist in any type of negotiation or work out a solution that would keep GetRV.com cash flowing and let them meet their "Risk" needs. Tom maintained the heavy handed dictatorial stance that they were not going to compromise their position.

GetRV.com borrowed a large amount of money so it could honor the existing reservations it was handling while Vision Payment Solutions continued withholding funds.

Finally VPS did release a small amount of funds, but continued to retain 5% of every daily deposit until the accumulated $160,000. On January 6th, with a 5 day notice, VPS decided to terminate their agreement with GetRV.com. They did not reach their $160,000 goal, but was able to withhold a large amount of that which they are still holding on to now.

Because the GetRV.com business is prepay, they could not pay vendors timely, because of the withholding by VPS. Vendors would immediately started contacting customers stating they had not been paid, and would not release the RV until they were paid direct from the customer. This perpetuated a lot more charge backs from customers which began spiraling out of control.

GetRV.com knew that if it got to the spring season they would be able to make up all that was lost.

GetRV.com was behind payments to their web hosts, so the website was shut on the 20th, of February. This stopped all email, bookings, and web presence. They were able to work out with the host company to turn it back on but by this time, there was a significant amount of damage done. The payment promised to the webhosting company did not clear because of additional charge backs. That day, the web hosting company shut down the site. It once again stopped all email and access to information on the web site.

The first week of March, there were more charge backs than bookings. Every time there is a chargeback, the funds are immediately taken out of the Getrv.com bank account even after a vendor has already been paid. Even though contractually obligated, no vendor has ever paid money back to Getrv.com for a disputed chargeback.

Finally unable to borrow any more capital to cover monies withheld by VPS and the snowballing charge backs by nervous vendors and customers GetRV.com had to make the extremely difficult decision to shut down the business and lay off their employees. After being in business successfully for nine years, working with Vision Payment Solutions was able to destroy the small business in six months.

GetRV.com took all the risk for credit card processing so their business partners could book more business. If you currently work with this company, take note. If you process credit cards, realize you are responsible for any time there is a charge back for up to 6 months after the transaction.

If Vision Payment Solutions had not continually withheld funds then GetRV would still be in business today.

The bashing on line by some of the same business partners of GetRV.com that enjoyed years of success with is unbelievable.

Put the blame where it really lies. There are many rental companies feeling the void now that GetRV.com is currently not booking business for them!!

I have one question. Why was the money that was collected for the rentals not kept in a seperate account, as it belonged to the RV owners and not GETRV.

They should have been operating on the 20% that we were paying them to arrange the rentals.

I am tired of thier blame game - it was all very poor management and they are thiefs. God will hold them accountable.

Guest

I'm sorry, but why did they continue to rent campers, knowing full well they were not going to pay the vendors. AND, why all the emails - "your check is in the mail" for over 6 months!

Don't believe this nonsense - Jim Orr is now operating as RVRENTALSDFW.com.

We have finally gotten our court date Sept. 21st, 2012!!

This situation is so unfortunate. GetRV helped me break even on my RV and I always appreciated their business model.

ACH is always the way to go on deposits.

Its all lies... They told me back in September that a bad employee started all this. They owe me money since September 11

Getthefactsright .. I would be interested in purchasing the "Viable Assets" of the former GetRV.com if they are willing to sell them ..

I am not interested in any of the "Liabilities".

Can you put me in contact with the "Legal Entity" that can assist?

Thanks

Guest

Rusty,

I totally agree with you .. I would be willing to bet that this post came from Jennifer or possibly Amy.

Brian and Patti would never reveal such details .. it's not their nature .. I loved the first line "GetRV.com has a policy of not participating in public, “anonymous” bashing forums." ..

Since GetRV.com is no longer in business and running from it's legal obligations to pay their vendors .. GetRV.com has no policy of any sort ..

Guest

If as the employees have stated they knew nothing of such details, this information would have to be from Jennifer, Brian, Patti or Amy. Why did GETRV close the Friday before I said I would start collections from our previous renters? Why did you gef $25000 behind in just our payments?

The processing firm says they have actions againt you...what's the truth?

GetRV.COM Out of Business?

Faced with complaints from both renters and owners, looks like GETRV.COM folded up and headed for the hills yesterday. No longer answering phones and the web sites down, debtors will be lucky to find any of these folks from whom to collect!

Troubles began last year, when renters' payments went into GETRV bank accounts and GETRV owners opted to slow or even stop payments to the RV owners...leaving debts in some cases over $25,000.

Bad press, price of fuel, bad management all left an unresolvable package their owners, Brian and Patti, simply couldn't face.

One has to seriously question the ethics of GETRV billing renters for rentals but keeping that money for their own needs rather than paying the owners for the RV. What...20% commissions weren't enough??

We did win our court case for $3800 plus interest. The Judgement has been file on their credit reports.

The Judge also issued in the judgement we can pursue collection on the owners and any officers/directors that were in involved in the company. The judgement was given before the bankruptcy so they still are still liable for the debt or it remains on their personal credit reports.

Guest

The courts have served GETRV and we have our court date in Dallas on 9/21/12. We filed for $3800 plus court fees, hotel, airfare, etc. I will post a followup.

Guest

Stan, Jennifer, Patti and all have deceived the people who supplied the motor homes. Customers paid in full well in advance.

We received nothing and are left with over $18,000 of promised payments. Shameful.

A first for this company to bear. If integrity is still there somewhere, we do expect that we will be paid as promised by so many at the call center.javascript:ac_smilie(':cry')

Guest

If and when they formally file .. GetRV.com should list you as a creditor ..

if you receive a notice as a creditor .. I urge everyone to file a complaint with the bankruptcy court to have GetRV.com and its owner to be held responsible for repayment of the debt ..

don't let them just dismiss the debts .. fight for every penny ..

Guest

I can only hope the bankruptcy court sees the situation as more criminal than financial!

Guest

I heard through the grapevine that GetRV.com is filing for Bankruptcy protection .. so if you are owed money ..

I hope you file a claim with the bankruptcy court .. otherwise Brian Heath will walk away with a clean slate ..

Guest

Per the below quoted message from anonymous .. before you start throwing people under the bus and pointing fingers ..

be aware that while I was employed at GetRV.com I never "floated the checks" since I was not a signer or Officer of the company, I never had the ability to "float checks" .. any check that were "floated" were done so by the owners .. they were given the check in a timely manner and they .. and they alone ..

had control of when the checks were signed and mailed .. it is really sad that someone has to go back to 2009 to dig up a name of a former employee that had nothing to do with the recent activities of this now defunct company .. Ron

"I used to rent my moho's thru these folks but got tired of their lies do I dropped them.

Ron, the guy who floated the checks cell phone used to be 972-272-****. Good luck to all."

I worked there for 3 months over the summer of 2009. They called ME and wanted to hire me due to my experience in the travel industry.

They laid me off after 3 months once summer was over. Never paid my full paycheck and the tiny commission I was due. I would get calls from lots of RV owners asking about their payment. When I asked the owners, they really did say things like, "we are working on it ".

And to comment on RON....he was one of the best... honest, hard working and an all around great guy. He just got taken advantage of... do not throw him under the bus.

He was one of the good, honest ones.... he just got taken advantage of like I did...

Guest

Yes, same guy - Rustysilverwings. I set up alias before things folded as I was cautious about inviting retaliatory lawsuits. Didn't mean to "hide"...my loss is significant, public, verified, and I did nothing during the course of my rentals other than be friendly and respectful to GETRV employees, and to feel that they should have been more open about the unlikely payments ever coming in the mail.

And who are you? And yes, you can trust me. I am not the kind of man who leads people into the mess that GETRV delivered to us owners.

You folks know where I live...come see me, come talk it over, go visit the Texas AG and explain what you know.

Seriously, they kept the "booking agents" in the dark... we , (well, at least me) did all we could to locate the perfect RV/travel trailer for each client.

The owners had a HUGE, BEAUTIFUL "Class A" motorhome...

wonder what happened to IT??? hmmmm

GETRV - seems to continue as RVRentalsDFW.COM

Apparently Jim, Patti and Brian have continued, or earlier had already set up, RV storage businesses and RV rentals, one under the name RVRENTALSDFW.COM. Ami is shown in their on-line presence. Spoke with Jim Orr today, who said the GETRV facility was closed and remaining staff laid off, but he for some reason gets phone calls forwarded to him when I called RVRENTALSDFW (rvrentalsdfw.com) He said one Plano address was Ami's RV storage facility. Folks, they gotta realize that having taken credit card payments, checks, debit card payments for UPCOMING rentals, and kept money owned owners for months of PREVIOUS rentals - we're going to take action! In my case, I'm out $25,000 - and that's after a face-to-face visit with Brian, Jim, Patti and Jennifer in Dallas when I got their empty promises we'd get the money owed us in March. Oh, the sounds of silence!!!

RV Rentals DFW has not been associated to Get RV since Get RV closed. It was sold to different proprietors that had nothing to do with that company.

Guest

yes, indeed...good luck. Is this small claims, criminal or what? Who did you find to serve a summons on, and can I ask for that address?

PLEASE TELL ME THE TYPE OF YOUR COURT DATE...SMALL CLAIMS, FRAUD, BANKRUPTCY?? I AM STILL OWED ABOUT $25000 FROM THEM AND CANNOT LOCATE BRIAN BUT HAVE CONFIRMED THAT PATTY IS/WAS AN OFFICER OF THE FIRM.

HAD ZERO LUCK GETTING RENTERS TO SEEK RELIEF VIA THEIR CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS TO GETRV. HAD NO COMMUNICATIONS IN ANY WAY FROM GETRV OR ITS OFFICERS OTHER THAN A PHONE CALL WHEN I LOCATED PATTY.

We have a court hearing in Dallas 9/21/12. We got a card from the Judge who wants to hear the case and GETRV has been served.

We filed back in December 2011.

Judge Al Cercone is going to hear the case, so wish us luck. I will do a flowup.

i too am owed money by getrv.com. Arounnd $600. They nnever paid balance of burnig man event..

Guest

Rusty .. I heard through another RV owner that has had contact with Brian, that Brian referred him to his bankruptcy attorney.

It seems that GetRV.com is filing for bankruptcy and plans to have as much of their debt as possible disposed of through the courts. If this does happen, civil action will be useless since the debt will have been dismissed through the bankruptcy ..

a criminal case with conviction and restitution would get at least some form of repayment .. I hope this information helps ..

Guest

I should have shown my name, not theirs in the top line. And I meant to say that AMI is an officer of GETRV but now running RVRENTALDFW with no apparent links to GETRV.

Whoever can volunteer to visit the Texas AG, we need to send that person in with at least a partial list of victims and the dollar amounts. In addition to us owners, there are the renters (and their credit card companies) who've paid for upcoming rentals and are faced with Brian and Patti skipping with the funds---and this involves credit card (fraud?), interstate communications, interstate wire transfers, postal (fraud?), etc....lots of authorities to interest in their scam.

It seems September is when they started withholding many payments, right? Kept paying for some rentals here and there, kept making minimal amounts against outstanding balances, and then stopped altogether early 2012. I got one bounced check...anybody else? Writing checks you expect to bounce is a crime(?).

Guest

We need somebody in Dallas or Austin to visit the Texas AG and discuss this problem before the officers of GETRV dispose of the assets due us. Volunteers...get in there and start slugging.

I have identified an attorney in Dallas to help but civil action is probably unrealistic vs. criminal - criminal law and court-ordered sanctions are more likely to dig up some money due us.

LET'S GET OFF OUR BUTTS people! TALK TO ME!!!

I am also out 1600.00 from my last rental with Getrv.com. I was also hearing excuse after excuse ...finally i stopped calling for a couple months and now look.....Wow! I will say that Cristi Crawford was always a great help, and I feel bad that she was put in this situation.

My husband and I rented our camper out of Michigan. Olsonhome87@***.net if anyone is interested.

I never had any issues with the girls in customer service. All of them listened to my complaints and tried their best to help. Hard to help someone when Patty, Brian and Jennifer (Finance) were always and I mean always unavailable and never, ever returned phoned calls. I am happy to say that I did receive all the funds that were owed to us.

Lots of calls made to GetRV but all funds retrieved. Even had to go to Bank of America with a check in hand to verify funds daily until the funds showed up and I snagged them. Last check from them. I did mention to Christy That I hope she gets her last paycheck and I still hope Christy that you and the others did.

Good luck to you and thanks for listening to me ***. :)

Hi - It's the owner Brian Heath who is the crook. We've been fed all kinds of excuses from Jennifer why we haven't been paid, checks in the mail, blah blah.

Now they are closed and we are out $2600+ since Sept.

2011. I hope the General Attorneys office is in Texas charges him and their financial dept with fraud.

Brian Heath is listed as a director for a vacation rental company called VRResNetwork.com - that is listed through the Registered Agent in Dallas that connects him with both GETRV and VRResNetwork.com.

VRResNetwork.com website does vacation rentals - I wonder how many people are getting ripped off there as well.

rustysilverwings

Employees there, although polite like Christy, certainly had to know of GETRV financial troubles, as we were constantly complaining to them as well as to Brian and Jim, and even asked to stop berating the staff.

Christy doesn't deserve nasty-grams like the now above, however- please stop those personal attacks.

Guest

For the record the employees at GetRV.com were unaware of the financila situation of the company and its owners .. they were all blindsided just as the customers were ..

Guest

Hey I dont appreciate this comment I was just doing my job and did not cheat anyone I had no idea what was going on. I was just as surprised as you. I never lied or cheated anyone I just worked for the wrong place

GETRV.COM

Please consider all available reviews and information prior to doing business with these people. The BBB of Dallas, TX has these folks with an "F" rating and over 40 complaints.

Online sources have many complaints for non payment of rentals. I did not do my homework prior to making reservations with these folks. My concerns began when they charged the full rental (2,100.00) to my credit card in January 2012 for the July 2012 reservation. Their paperwork indicates a 600.00 reservation fee would be all that would be charged.

I really began to look into these folks once they contacted me to changed credit card billing agencies. I contacted the RV owner whom has yet to be paid for rentals completed in 2011. He cautioned he might not be able to afford to keep a relationship with GETRV.com as they currently were past due on over 6,000.00. I put all of my concerns together and emailed them to GETRV.COM.

requesting the cancellation. I received a call from Jennifer"Jendi" Berkheimer who assured me all their obligations have been met. I insisted on canceling the reservation and received confirmation from her on January 26, 2012. With several follow up emails I received confirmation from Jennifer McBride "Controller" on February 1, 2012 that a full refund was being processed and a "credit memo" would be sent February 2, 2012.

Despite daily emails to GETRV.COM I have yet to see the promised refund. I have gone the route of challenging my credit card transaction. The only communication I receive from them are the "Read Receipts" from my daily emails. I will continue to pursue them.

Here are all their email addresses should you find yourself in a similar position......

Jim Orr = jorr@***.com Jennifer McBride = jmcbride@***.com Patty Heath = pheath@***.com Jennifer "Jendi" Berkheimer = jberkheimer@***.com . Hopefully you won't make the same mistake I did.......

Hey, Cheated and Ripped off -- we're about to file suit, too -- the RV was fully paid for by the renters, but we didn't see a dime. We had a few back-to-back rentals and by the time we could pull the plug, we were out thousands.

Guest

I hate to say that I worked for this company several years ago and I will tell you that they did not treat their employees very well either. it was a sweat shop.

I had no idea that the RV owners were not getting paid. If you didnt book enough, they let you go... even if folks cancelled their reservations for no fault of your own. When I was "laid off", they never even paid me my commission for the bookings that I had booked.

I had a lot of bookings that month.... all they did was pay me my small hourly wage... no commission... I was not happy.

They were very selfish.. now I am seeing the true side of them. I can see how they could do this...

the owner used to be involved with Hotels.com....... Hope it doesn't hurt me to have them on my resume!!!

I take it everyone else is getting the "Sorry, all circuits are busy" fake recording when calling their telephone numbers? I understand that many businesses go under but there has been too many blatent lies over the past six months to swallow this one very easily. I doubt there will be any recourse for those of us that have lost money here as a BK letter is imminent.

Guest

Not likely GetRV will win any challenge made on the credit card charges as it appears the credit card companies are already holding back funds.

Guest

My fear is that we won't get the credit card money back and then end up paying twice if we rent it "privately" from the owner. PLus, I don't want to muddy the water if we end up taking this to court. If we rent the RV privately from the owner then it may appear as if we got the so called good/service from getrv.com when in fact we paid twice for use of the RV.

Guest

Looks like GETRV.COM is out of business. Unpaid owners will likely take the brunt of this failed business, however if you've paid by Credit Card I believe things will work out for you with the challenge / dispute process.

The only drawback is the 45 days they put you through. My CC company processed the refund on a "temporary" basis awaiting the response from GETRV.COM should they wish to contest the charge back.

gypsy travel try reaching out to the RV owner directly and keep your travel plans on track. That's what I did and the owner was more than happy to work with me, even reducing the fees.

Guest

They are out of business, no bk filing yet

Guest

Dear Cheated and Ripped Off,

Do you know if the family ever got their money back that they paid? We are supposed to leave next week but like you, the owner does not want to let us take possession because she has not been paid 10K owed to her.

We are so upset. Out all this money (5 K).

Credit card company saying they will return it to us though only "temporarily." What does that mean? So very angry.

GetRV won't pay for my rental!!-caution!

DO NOT RENT YOUR MOTOR HOME FROM GET RV>COM!! I sent this : To the Texas Better Business Bureau; I rented my motor to Get RV.com a Dallas based rental management company and have not received agreed reimbursement to payment since September. I dropped these people 3 years ago - that had 15 of my units and stopped using them because once, my check arrived after the renter left. I told them next time, the renter will not be allowed to leave.

Then, I would get my check overnighted and it would arrive the day before the rental. They had my money tied up for 6 months at a time and I still had bills to pay when I could have rented them myself and got my money up front.

Ron is a liar - the excuses: unsigned checks, it got lost (heard that one over and over), and I just don't deal with liars - period. I'm glad I pulled the plug on them when I did.

GetRV having some trouble...

No doubt these guys are having some financial troubles. I have worked with these guys for a couple of years renting my motorhome with no issues. I think the workers are dedicated people and while we have had a few tense conversations, have always enjoyed them personally. I am more concerned about the fact the owner does not respond to me. With that said, I think they have a good business idea, but ran into cash problems like allot of companies in the downturn. Gas prices don't help companies like this either. I am sure they have their challenges with certain owners who don't keep their coach's up to snuff. If they could get a little bigger and make some money, I think they could afford to to "vet" their owners better, but I am sure they have a volume model that says you pay for the cost HERE and you make money HERE. It really is a time and execution game. We have really enjoyed all the people who have rented our motorhome. It is fun to see people have fun! Hope GetRV can pull this off. And, hope we get our Washington Reps working together again and we elect a truly pro small business President. And...this is coming from a guy who is still owed dollars for (1) rental. Randy Hughes

We also rented out a used travel trailer we have on the lot through getrv.com. We only recently did it and are owed $2,000.

I'm looking into contacting the FBI. We are located in central Florida.

Any ideas on attorneys who will take a class action suit? We are out a lot less than some of you, but it's enough to hurt us when business is so slow.

Guest

We heard the same story as Nancy Caruso and were promised a payment in March 2012. Credit card company holding back money?

I do not and did not believe it. Everyone in the office including Jim and Jennifer made promises they did not keep. We are owed over $18,000.00. We even let the motor homes out without payment since we had such trust in GETRV.

Where is Brian Heath? He is the owner. We should bond together, get an attorney and get paid. An attorney from Dallas told us that he, after reviewing the case and making inquires, felt that his office would not handle the case.

In unity there is strength.

Perhaps Mr. Brian Heath should answer his emails, too.

Nancy-- Call your credit card company immediately and dispute the charge with the reason being that you paid for a service that was not provided. Here is my story:

Me and my friends made the mistake of booking with GetRV.com the day that they took their website down.

We live in Long Island and were looking for a rental for this summer. GetRV took the deposit right off my credit card and immediately took their website down. My friend was on the phone with one of the guys who worked there, who assured her that it was not a scam and that it was just down for routine maintenance. He said he would send a confirmation e-mail as soon as the site was back up.

When the website didn't go back up for 6 hours, we got nervous and called. No answer. Left a voicemail. By this time, we'd seen all the horrible reviews about GETRV.com and were getting REALLY nervous.

We gave them a day and when there had been no receipt, no terms and conditions, no website, and no returned call... I contacted my bank. This was on 3/19 and the site is still down. We received no confirmation and they haven't answered any calls about the request to cancel with a full refund.

I called my bank and disputed the charge with them. They're still in the 20 day grace period to refund me via my many calls, but I won't hold my breath. Today, I got a call from my bank that there was a fraudulent charge on that same credit card out in Los Angeles. Coincidence?

Maybe, but I doubt it. Take this as fair warning...

if their site comes back online, NO NOT do business with these guys!!! They are scam artists and crooks!

Guest

Nearly devastated. What to do?

We are supposed to pick up a RV we paid for in full but the owner will not allow us to take it since she is owed many thousands.

What to do?? Getrv.com processed our credit card already!

happy w

Nancy, we need to talk...I'm another owner they owe and we are in serious trouble...notice no web site anymore.

Can you please email me at rustysilverwings@***.com

What more can be said? Get R.

V. is not paying their vendors or returning $1,000.00 deposit checks to the renters. they currently owe me over $8,000.00 (shame on me) and Jim orr or Jennifer will not return phone calls or speak to me when I call. I understand they had some problems with their merchant account who held back money, but that does not account for the rudeness of not talking to people.

Was told that the money held back would be released in March --- but no response to phone calls.

I have dwelt with them for 3 years and the first two were good experiences. It's time now to contact my attorney.

GETRV rental owes vendors money

GETRV owes lots of people money for past rentals. Tired of waiting 7 months now. We filed a lawsuit in Dec. Here is where you can file small claims against GETRV.: Dallas County Texas Judge Cercone - Small Claims http://www.dallascounty.org/department/jpcourts/3-1/smallclaims.php Fill out the forms, also include any travel expenses, lost time at work you may incur and court fees to be included with what they owe as you have to come to Dallas Courts when they set your court date. also be sure to file a complaint with the Texas General Attorney's Office https://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/complain.shtml They informed us that GETRV is under investigation because of the complaints filed, so more may help. Good luck! Maybe they will answer our calls and emails after they get served!

Don't rent your camper with GETRV.com before getting paid

Don't list your camper with GETRV.com. We are still waiting for a payment from a 2 week rental back in Sept 2011. Do not rent your RV until you get payment first. They won't respond to emails or phone calls anymore, so we are now taking it up in small claims court. They are also not accredited members of BBB but their rating is a D-. If they owe you money, contact the General Attorneys Office - Dept of Consumer Affairs in Texas https://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/index.shtml. I filed a complaint with them and we received a letter they are investigating the matter. I'm checking into a class action suit as well for all those that are owed money. Hey - the renters paid so why are they holding the money?

This company advertises taking reservations for RV rentals to the general public. Private owners who own RV's register with the company and in turn receive payment from GetRV.com less any commissions for rentals.

GetRV.com is still taking bookings from consumers and not forwarding the payments to the private owners. I provided a rental for them in Nov. 2011. Payment less commissions totaled $836.04.

I received a check from them in Dec. 2011 for 50% of the amount.

After a dozen phone calls and a few emails and continued promises by their controller to remit balance of payment I have yet to receive the payment of $418.02 as of Mar. 12, 2012.

GETRV not paying RV owner class action

Anyone interested in class action, please contact me at vw_art@***.com. We have several people interested but need a few more to file. If they owe you money for your rental, please get me your information. Also file a complaint with the Texas General Attorney's Office Dept Consumer Affairs https://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/filing.shtml and also file one in your home state as they are doing business in your state with written contracts to you. I have received a letter from the TX office and they are investigating, so more complaints filed will help. This is theft by taking, receiving money from the renters and keeping it.

I would reccommend that a class action not be the way to go .. Class Action is a civil suit and can take years in the courts to settle, by then the lawyer fees are so exhorbitant that you will be lucky to get a few pennies on the dollar, if you can even get money at all.

The fastest way to file is either in small claims or press criminal charges.

The owners have pierced they vail of corporate security by using company funds for personal expenses. This means that if you sue the company, you can also sue the owners personally.

I'm a private owner in MS and listed with GetRV for 2+ years. They still owe me aprox.

$1,000.00 I even went by their business in Dallas in effort to collect but found the doors closed and no one home. I called and could hear the phone ring on the other side of the door but no answer.

That same day I discovered the website was down.... I am definitely interested in class action.

Guest

We too have been lied to for the last 3 months and are owed over 2500.00. I am very interested in a class action lawsuit.

It's true. GetRV is not trustworthy! In SC? I can help...

As much as I would love to recommend GETRV, in good faith, I just can't. I am a private owner of a travel trailer who used GETRV to help find me business. It's true, GETRV will collect the money from the renters and never pay the actual owners who are providing the rv/camper. I have conducted several transactions successfully with GETRV during the summer of 2011. It wasn't until September of 2011 that they didn't pay me for my service. Alicia, with GETRV, claims that someone within their company was embezzling money and that's why their company got behind on paying their vendors. After 2 months of being patient with GETRV, I now realize that they have no intentions on paying me. I'm thinking a class action lawsuit is in order here. Anyone interested? Yes, the RVs you are renting are privately owned and not by GETRV. I can't speak on the condition on everyone's RV, however, I can tell you that we did and do keep our travel trailer in EXCELLENT condition. I am baffled why other owners and rental companies wouldn't do the same. After all, this is your business and in order to have a successful business you cater to your customers. With that being said, if your reading this and are in need of renting a camper in SC please call me. I promise you will get what your promised with me. I currently do not have any motor homes for rent, but I have a nice, newer travel trailer. Our rates are good, cheaper than renting through GETRV. You can view my camper at www.1rvrentals.com Click on SC. RV#1626 Also, we can delivery and setup the camper for you."

Suing Getrv.com

I put a post on here about a month ago complaing about not getting paid by Getrv.com. They currently owe me bout $1000 which isn't as much as some people that I have talked to but it is still a substantial amount for me. That $1000 consists of 4 separate rentals with the last one being over 3 months ago now. I have been told by Getrv 2 separate times that money was on the way and guess what, no money was on the way. Where I come from we call that a big fat lie. I understand companies running into issues, but there is a right and wrong way to deal with it and the way they have treated me and lied to me and others that I have talked to is not how you do it. I have recently filed a small claims suit against Getrv in Dallas County Texas where they are located. There was another person looking into a class action against them but you need a certain amount of people which she couldn't get. At this point I do not know any other way of making sure you get your money back other than suing or just letting it go and hoping you happen to get a check in the mail one day.

Getrv.com

are a bunch of crooks. DO NOT do business with them. They will rent out your RV, charge the customer and then never pay you. This is a shoddy company that I hope will soon be out of business. They tell you they will pay you and then don't. They always have an excuse why they cannot pay you. I will never do business with them again. Owners will not extend the courtesy of a return phone call. Nobody will return your phone calls from accounting. I cannot believe these people. This is no way to run a business.

They owe me $2000.00 from september 2011. We got a check but they put a stop payment on it after it was in my account. If a lawsuit would produce any results count me in.

Guest

Count me in on the suit. They just "ran for the hills" and closed the doors.

They owe me $1800.

Same here. We've been trying to be patient with them.

Luckily we have a pop-up and are only out the $500 deposit we returned to the client plus the rental fee (less than $800 total), but still annoying.

That and we have 2 more rentals on the books. I'd love to get in on the class action suit.

Guest

I have had the exact same experiences with them. They owe me over $6000 in back rentals.

I have filed complaints with BBB and FTC. I am in for filing a lawsuit, contact me

Guest

I've been waiting since Sept for a 2wk rental payment. Please contact me - vw_art@***.com.

I am trying to get together enough interest to file a class action suit. I've already contacted the Texas General Attorney - Consumer Affairs Department and you should file a complaint with them too.

Guest

I have had this exact experience with them. They are holding on to my money (almost $2000) and to make matters worse, THEY cancelled the RV!

Not paying vendors

I have worked with getrv.com for three years with no problems. Getrv.com is now 7 weeks late with over $2000 of my money. They keep making excuses for not paying. They have also told me three different times that my check is in the mail. They are on their third person in accounting. She told me that they are $60,000 back in payments to their vendors and no checks will be cut for another two weeks. If you are a vendor and have rentals coming up do not let your RV go out without getting paid first.

THey owe me about $1000 and one of my checks is about 9 weeks late. It seems all I have gotten with them is the run around.

I finally sent an email to them today to say that If I dont have my checks in the mail by Monday I am going to file a suit at small claims court. My email is mcwamerica@***.com if you would like to comment.

Do not rent from GETRV.COM

Updated by user Mar 18, 2011

To be fair - since posting this complaint, Get RV has been in contact with me, and is offering me a full refund on my rental price. This is great news, but being a realist, I am hesitant to believe it until I actually have a check in my hand... Once the refund has...

Original review Mar 17, 2011
GetRV.com is a complete rip off - - beware!! They are a 3rd party company that puts you in contact with a local RV rental company.

We rented an RV out of Las Vegas, and they connected us with a company out of Salt Lake City, UT (Family Adventures RV Rental - see additional posting). We selected a specific RV which suited our needs, paid for the reservation and then waited. The owner of the RV delivered the RV, but had not checked the basic systems - - while we were walking the RV in our driveway, we discovered that there were no televisions, the water tank had a major leak - so no water for the entire trip, the levelling jacks did not work, the step did not work, and the RV was rented to us in a state of complete filth (had not been cleaned in months). Not wanting to cancel our vacation, we accepted the RV, but have been trying to deal with GETRV.COM for months to get at least a partial refund for the trouble - they are impossible to deal with, very rude, most times they do not even answer the phone, they do not call back when they say they will call back.

All in all - this was a terrible experience. BEWARE!!!

I rented an RV through GetRV and obtained the RV through Summit RV Rentals outside of Atlanta. Jerry at Summit was awesome and took his time with us showing us every end of the RV.

GetRV switched the rental at the last minute to say the least with Summit RV rentals RV, in the end GETRV owes us money for the difference. Its been 2 months now!!!!

Check Summit out... www.summitrvrentals.com

I rented an RV thru GetRV in Miami from On The Road Again RV Rentals and they were great! They were super accomodating and included alot more for the price than GetRV described to us.

We already reserved with them again for our June vacation. Check them out www.otrarv.com, you won't be dissapointed!

Guest

I rented with Get Rv for 3 years with no problem. My last rental in Dec 2011 has not been paid.

Jennifer made promise after promise but never delivers. I have a few bookings coming up.

I plan to contact the customers to alert them I will not be able to rent through Get RV. Hopefully they can get a refund and rent from me directly.

Guest

I work with a RV Dealership. We also have not been paid for 9 mos.

I feel sorry for anyone who uses GETRV. We will no longer accept clients from this very poorly run company.

All promises and no money continually. They Lie Lie Lie.

Guest

Have not been paid since October 2011. Recieved partial payment ($200) and the check bounced. They keep saying they are going to pay but have not heard from them in 4 weeks.

Guest

I echo every one of these comments... I have been told countless times that check was in the mail and each time nothing received ...

It has now been almost 6 months since the refund should have been completed and i still have not received anything. Has anyone received anything in return in the form of payment within the last 6 months?

Guest

they owe me to

Guest

Do not rent an RV from Cruise America either. I rented one from Spokane, Washington and it was filthy.

The refrigerator had live maggots in it. I tried to refuse it but the company swore they would make it right. Instead of ruining my vacation we cleaned it ourselves and took off. Big mistake.

The manager lied about the rebate we negotiated and several other items. Worst company I have ever dealt with.

Guest

@Matthew - I would be interested in more info, in regards to class action. I am an RV provider that has used get RV in the past.

My last two renters, I have also not been paid.

They total over 1200.00 which isn't earth shattering, but the RV Rentals are my sole form of employment and this really Stinks that they are doing this to people, especially this time of year. Hope my daughter isn't too disappointed!

Do not rent from www.getrv.com

Do not rent a RV from www.getrv.com. They are a bunch of crooks.

I have been trying for 4 months now to get my deposit back on a RV I rented. I took the RV back in better shape than when I rented it and still can't get my deposit. The company has made numerous promises that my deposit would be returned to my account, but no action.

The customer support is terrible, and just getting them to answer the phone is a feat in itself. If you value your hard earned money do not rent from them.

GetRV arranged a rental back in October. Several days prior to the client picking up my coach, i called GetRV to inquire as to my payment as the renter had already made full payment to them. they assured my check was being overnighted and to go ahead and proceed with the rental.

I regrettably allowed the renter to take my coach for their trip as the issue was with GetRV and the client had paid in full. When the check did not arrive as agreed, I called GetRV and again was assured the check was on it's way.

Several weeks later I contacted the company's controller who advised me much of their accounts had been frozen due to chargebacks from renters credit cards and all payments were delayed. I was, of course, extremely heated and had a few choice words. I was advised payment was being made and was given an apology.

Middle December, I received 1/2 of the money they owed to me. We are now mid January and the person I was dealing with is no longer with the company - quit, I'm sure and I am dealing with a new person. So far - still waiting on payment.

Lesson here is if you are a coach owner, make sure you receive payment BEFORE the client picks up your coach.

Or use Craigs List and do it yourself.

Guest

GetRV.com is not paying their bills. They rented out my RV for a week in October and still have not paid me.

Will not return emails or voice mail. Do not rent your RV out unless you are paid up front.

Guest

We listed our Class A MH with GetRV.com. They rented our RV for the Burning Man event.

They were paid up front from the renter and we still have not been paid months later. The renter loved our RV but now we cant even get a return phone call from GetRV.com. Seems like they only answer phones or return phone calls when they can collect. I am filing a complant with the BBB even though they are not memebers.

My next step is to take legal action. This was our first rental experience and will be the last with these ripoff people!!

Guest

We have had our RV listed with GetRV for 5 years and have had problems getting the money for them for rentals. They now owe us approx. $1700 for two rentals and no longer return our calls.

sarah w Vvp

GetRV is not reliable. Getting someone on the phone is very difficult as discribed by others on this site. The process was easy and worked as planned--pick up etc, but the RV was old and had holes in the top (pop up camper), was difficult to put up and down and generally just old, rusty and overpriced. The biggest concern was that one of our children fell out of the end of the camper because the person who went over how to set it up didn't give com

plete details on the process.

Overall mostly we were disappointed in the cost vs condition of the camper and will not use them again. I also could not contact anyone to talk about our complaint. I think it was overpriced for the condition. We could have rented a 3 bedroom cottage in the area we camped in for only twice the amount we paid for this old camper.
